You can actually create an organization that is filled with Winners IF you know what you are doing... It all starts with your attitude and attraction (recruiting) activities!
(NOTE: I will be using the words ‘Attract/Attraction/Attracting’ in place of ‘Recruit’, as I employ the successful methods of “
Attraction Marketing” and Natural Selling in building my businesses. These methods come from an abundance mentality and are in total alignment with who I am and the products and opportunities I am involved with. They bring to me the highest caliber of potential business partners and customers actively LOOKING for a home business.)
As the leader and CEO of your business, you determine the attitude of your team by the beliefs you possess and by whom you choose to allow into it. The key is to not attract just for the sake of growing your organization. Be selective in your attracting process and seek only those who possess the attributes and skills you respect, admire and require.
Too many people in this industry are desperate to recruit people into their business and could care less how dedicated the person will be to doing the required activities.
Newbie's in marketing, whether it is Direct Sales, MLM etc., do not think past getting the person to sign the application. They will go so far as to beg, plead and do just about anything to get that new team member into their business.
When you do this, you end up trying to hype-up the potential business partner, by selling them on the income potential. You get them excited about the dream lifestyle and convince them that they are going to be rich and rolling in money in no time at all!
Well, as experienced, successful marketers we know that in most cases this is simply not true. We also know that it takes a commitment of time, energy and some amount of money for our marketing efforts to be successful in this great industry.
Once the new member realizes it’s not a get rich quick opportunity, they will either quit right away, or become one of the whiners and complainers who just languish around in a negative depressing state, trying to bring everyone else down with them.
And as difficult as this may be for you to hear, if you have brought them into your business in this manner, THIS IS YOUR FAULT! It does come back to you, because YOU DID NOT HAVE THE MINDSET AND SKILLS to see that this type of person was not right for your business! So take responsibility for what YOU CAN CHANGE and begin to do so NOW!
But don’t beat yourself up if you’ve done this - we all have! Remember, EVERYONE starts at the beginning :-) The important thing is to learn from it now, and learn how to recruit top quality people into your business from this point forward…
Focus on people who are LOOKING for your EXACT opportunity!
Focus on attracting ONLY those people into your business who are going to be committed.
Focus on attracting movers and shakers - people with the positive, can do attitude.
Focus on people who realize this is a business, not a get rich quick opportunity.
Focus on people who are dedicated to putting the time, energy and money required into being successful.
Now you may be saying, "How do I know who is going to be committed and who is not?" It’s actually very easy...
It all comes down to having the right attitude and mentality when you are interviewing people :-)
Here are some “Tips For Successfully Calling Leads”:
“If your conversion ratios are very low... and by that I mean, you’re calling a lot of leads to have one person join you, then it could be the way you're approaching your leads that is the cause of the problem. For example, many Network Marketers are taught to:
Use "canned" scripts when they call leads.
Focus on getting the person as quickly as possible to listen in on a conference call or go to a website which will "close" them on the opportunity.
And therein resides the cause of the problem that makes most people automatically resistant to you.
They feel as if you're treating them as nothing more than sheep being rounded up. They can see through your agenda and they can hear that it’s not really about helping them realize their needs - it’s about you realizing yours!
It's no surprise that people hate being treated this way... and they respond by creating resistance through raising objections and rejecting you.
So, to help you from falling into this trap, ask yourself this question... "Why has this person responded to my advertisement/website about my business opportunity?"
The answer is that something is missing and they're looking to make a change in their lives.
So YOUR JOB is to find out what that is by interviewing them and allowing them to talk about it. You're looking to discover if your solution will fit what they're looking for.
Equally important, you want to discover if they are the kind of person that you're looking for. Someone who will be an enthusiastic and keen member of your team.
I'm sure you'll agree that starting off the conversation on the right foot is critical.
There is a
six-step formula I suggest for calling and connecting with someone from a lead list that I can teach you in no time!
So, when you're calling leads, focus on your purpose, which is to discover how you can help the person that you're calling. You'll find your calls both more productive and more enjoyable.”
When you are interviewing people, it is important that you give yourself permission to have posture with your potential business partner. Be relaxed, centered and in control of yourself and let the conversation flow. You are now on your way along this MUTUAL journey of discovery…
Do you notice the difference with this approach? This is the approach of a leader; of someone with posture and confidence in themselves. People will be attracted to you if you have this attitude - I Guarantee it! :-)
So ask the pointed questions, but do not sell them on the business. Instead, INTERVIEW them on whether they are worthy of your opportunity, your leadership and your guidance ALL the while seeking to determine if your opportunity is something that will truly HELP THEM!
This takes some practice, but is very important and essential to your lasting success! I recommend people go out and either purchase 500 of the cheapest leads they can find, or get some
FREE Leads HERE for the sole purpose of practicing how to have posture.
Call these leads with no intention of recruiting them. When you are finished calling them you will be a master recruiter! :-)
In asking your questions, be sure to LISTEN to all of their answers (take notes) and repeat their answers back to them for clarification as you ask more questions, all the while LISTENING to see if they are qualified and if what you have is a fit for them.
People who are serious about building a business will understand this - the tire kickers and wanna-be’s will not. When you’ve determined that you are speaking with someone who does not meet your qualifications, simply end the conversation politely. Your time is money and you only want to speak with those who are serious about earning an income from home.
This is a very important concept to understand and method to implement into your business. I teach and train on this on an ongoing bases, as does my mentor and company.
